The 38th annual Yampa River Festival aims to raise awareness for and help to protect the 270-mile Yampa River in Northwest Colorado, the last remaining major, wild river in the seven-state Colorado River basin. This event promises a fun-filled weekend for the whole family. The weekend kicks off with the Fish Creek race Friday evening. Saturday events are at Charlie's Hole at 13th Street with downriver races, freestyle competitions, the SUP Cup, crazy river dog contest, tubing and raft races and more. A slalom race wraps up the weekend on Sunday.

Breckenridge Creative Arts is pleased to announce the return of WAVE: Light + Water + Sound, an exhibition of cutting-edge works of contemporary public art featuring illuminated sculptures, projections and digital art on the riverfront. This free 4-day event offers temporary installations, musical performances, screenings, digital art and eye candy of all sizes for the whole family to experience.

The Vail Whitewater Race Series gives local and visiting kayakers, stand up paddle boarders and two-person raft teams the opportunity to race down Gore Creek from the Covered Bridge to the International Bridge during the peak runoff period in May and June. Each week a different course/format is featured to test competitors skills and provide exciting spectator viewing. An awards party takes place after each event at a local restaurant.

Animas River Days is Durango's only river festival, celebrating our community's love of the river! Take part in events such as a Kayak and Canoe Slalom, a Stand Up Paddle Board/Surf Competition, and the perennial favorite, the River Parade. Complete with music, food, a beer garden, and more, this event is a wet & wild way to welcome in summer!

Join us for the 42nd year of this classic early season mountain race along the Ten Mile Range on the paved recreation path. There are 10k and half marathon options. This uncommonly beautiful course is a fast one so come prepared to challenge a few personal records.

Take turns with your friends running a beautiful and challenging 3 mile trail loop. Run as a ‘duo’ or on a team of 4. There’s even a ‘Beer Relay’ category for those who’d like to make things a bit interesting. The team with the most laps in the shortest time wins! Following the race you can attend The Burning Can Beer Festival with 70+ breweries, then enjoy the free concert!
