The 2018 Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships returns to Vail Mountain bringing with them the best snowboarders in the world competing to win the most prestigious Halfpipe and Slopestyle titles in snowboarding.
Our goal is to bring the community together with indie filmmakers for the unique opportunity to experience and discuss global, innovative and diverse films. This 5-day festival kicks-off Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Gaslight Theatres with Free Movie Night. This festival has films for everyone, including families and films that will indulge the adventurous who live and play in Durango.
The 27th Annual Steamboat Pentathlon will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2018. This event is hosted annually by the City of Steamboat Springs Parks and Community Services Department. The five-stage, multi-sport race includes Alpine Skiing/Riding, Snowshoeing, XC Skiing, Mtn Biking, Running.
The event tests athlete’s endurance as they race in teams of two across all four area mountains. The grueling course covers 24 miles and more than 10,000 vertical feet of climbs. Teams start in Snowmass Village, traverse to West Buttermilk, then on to Aspen Highlands where they ski over to Aspen Mountain and end in gondola plaza.
Join the Frisco Nordic Center staff for a full moon adventure on snowshoes! Participants ages 8 and up are invited to snowshoe and enjoy refreshments from FoodHedz World Cafe each month for the full moon. Ages 21+ cost $50, and anyone under 21 are $40. Price includes rentals, a beverage of your choice (wine, beer from OuterRange Brewing Co., or non-alcoholic), and a headlamp. Each tour will meet at 5:00pm, and depart from the Frisco Nordic Center.
